Free Bicycle Tune-Ups are Being Offered Today

Free bicycle tune-ups are being offered on Friday at Browning Elementary School Playground.

Alderman Cavalier Johnson invites residents to take part in some healthy summer activities with the Westlawn Partnership for a Healthier Environment during a series of bicycle-focused events in and around the 2nd Aldermanic District.

This afternoon, as well as on Friday August 12, residents can stop by the Browning Elementary School playground (5440 N. 64th St.) for a free bike tune-up, courtesy of the Westlawn Partnership for a Healthier Environment.

Between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m., the partnership will help put air in bike tires, oil bike chains, fix flat tires and make minor adjustments to bikes.

Then tomorrow, and every other Saturday through August 13, the Westlawn Partnership for a Healthier Environment will lead a community bike ride starting at 10:00 a.m. Participants are asked to meet at the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center, 5460 N. 64th St.
