Franklin Police issue warning after "theft of vehicles have increased considerably"

Franklin, WIS. (CBS 58) -- The Franklin Police Department is warning residents to lock all of their vehicles, houses, and garage doors.

According to police, theft of vehicles have increased considerably in the past month.

The wide majority of these entries and thefts were through unlocked doors.

Police are asking residents, " Please remember to always keep your doors locked, valuables (including keys) out of plain sight, and park in well-lit areas." 

Officers have been and will continue to place “Lock It or Lose It” notices on vehicles observed parked overnight. The police department has increased patrols in the affected parts of the city.

If you see any suspicious persons, vehicles or activity, report it to the Franklin PD at 414-425-2522.
