UPDATE: The occupants of the Walworth County crash have been identified.

The driver has been identified as 17-year-old Jason Davis of Burlington.

The two passengers have been identified as 20-year-old Landen Brown of Burlington and 17-year-old Hunter Morby of Burlington.

Three people are dead after a fiery car crash in rural Walworth County Sunday night.  

According to the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 7 PM Cranberry Road just east of Berndt Road in Lyons Township. 

Around 7 PM the Sheriff’s Office received the report of a car on fire after it crashed into a tree. 

When Deputies arrived on the scene, they found the 2003 Volkswagen Jetta against a tree, fully engulfed in flames. 

First responders found three occupants who had died in the vehicle and were badly burned. 

The Sheriff’s Office preliminary investigation indicates that the car had been traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control and left the roadway, striking a tree in the ditch on the north side of the road. 

The fatal crash remains under investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office and the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office.   

In a separate accident early Sunday morning, an unidentified man died after the pickup truck he was driving struck a utility pole on HWY B west of Saltbox road in the Walworth County Town of Sharon. 

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the accident happened around 2:50 AM Sunday. 

As Deputies arrived on scene, they found the 2012 Dodge pickup truck on fire against a metal electrical pole. 

The preliminary investigation found that the truck was traveling west on HWY B at a high rate of speed, the driver lost control on a curve, left the road and struck the pole. 

The man, the only person in the vehicle, died at the scene. 

He is yet to be identified.   

The crash remains under investigation by the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office Crash Investigation Unit and the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office.
