Former MPD Chief Morales files notice of claim against city and FPC; seeks $625K in damages

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Former Milwaukee Police Department Chief Alfonso Morales filed a notice of claim and injury against the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission.

The claim released Thursday, Aug. 20, demands the Milwaukee County Circuit Court review the decision to demote Morales from chief to captain.

Before his demotion, Morales was given 11 directives to follow from the FPC.

In one section of the lawsuit against the city, Morales' attorney Frank Gimbel, alleges while Morales tried to comply with the directives set by the FPC, the former chief was set up to fail.

Morales has since fired for retirement from the Milwaukee Police Department.
