MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Former Green Bay Packers Gilbert Brown, George Koonce, and Leroy Butler were special guests at the Salvation Army's first Others luncheon.
Why Others?
The idea was for successful people to share stories about how other people helped them on their life's journey. Proceeds from the luncheon will go to the organization's children's fund.
"I just tell people the story about me getting my first brand new shirt as an African-American in the inner city was through the Salvation Army. Matter of fact, I got my first brand new pair of shoes from the Salvation Army so they truly do the most good," said Butler.
The Luncheon also honored Bader Philanthropies for its support of causes in Milwaukee and around the world.
