Former Brewer Fiers throws no-hitter for Houston Astros

Mike Fiers has certainly found success in his new home. The former Brewer, traded to the Astros with Carlos Gomez in July, pitched a complete game no-hitter for Houston Friday night against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Fiers struck out ten and walked three in the Astros' first complete game no-hitter since Darryl Kile in 1993. He had thrown more than 100 pitches after seven innings, but was allowed to throw the eighth and ninth frames.

The win is Fiers' first as a member of the Astros.

The Brewers have thrown just one no-hitter in their franchise's history. Juan Nieves no-hit the Baltimore Orioles on April 15, 1987.
