Fond du Lac police: Man accused of trying to lure 4-year-old girl into truck with ice cream

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Fond du Lac police are investigating an attempted child enticement that happened at Catherine Whittier Park on Wednesday, September 25.

According to Fond du Lac police, the aunt of a 4-year-old girl contacted police after a man approached the child in the park located just east of Park Ave between E 2nd and 3rd Street.

Officials say the man asked the child if she wanted ice cream and asked her to come in his truck. 

According to police, the aunt was able to intervene and the suspect left eastbound from the park in a white, four-door, newer-sized Chevy SUV with tinted windows and half the Chevy logo on the back scratched off. 

Authorities described the suspect as a white male in his 40's, medium build, standing 5'8" tall, with shoulder-length gray hair and facial scruff. He was last seen wearing black sweat pants with cargo pockets, white t-shirt, black zip-up hooded sweatshirt with a dark blue colored baseball cap.
