Fond Du Lac Police Investigating Suspicious Incident between Middle School Student and Stranger

Fond Du Lac Police Department is investigating a report of student reporting while walking home a man putting her arm around her and tried to lead her away from home.

A female student from Theisen Middle School reported to her mother that while she was walking home from school that she was on the east sidewalk of South Main Street at 15th Street, she was approached by an adult male subject who began walking with the student and talking with her.

The male subject made some comments that the girl was cute and asked her name.

The male then put his arm on her shoulder directing her to walk on 15th Street.

The girl told the male she could not go that way and walked away to go towards her home.

The male subject was described as a black male, approximately 40 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with short hair and wearing a coat.

The subject did have a plastic grocery bag with him that had chips inside.

A male matching that description was seen on video surveillance leaving the Kwik Trip store on South Main Street at 3:51 PM that day.

The Fond du Lac School District was made aware of the situation and police will be stepping up patrols around Fond du Lac schools.
