FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Fond du Lac police say a day care worker was arrested Monday, Oct. 20, for her suspected involvement in the injury of a 3-month-old girl.

Detectives responded to Children's Wisconsin on Oct. 13 for a child with a fractured arm.

Officials say the injury was first discovered when the child was picked up early from Lily Pad Day Care and evaluated at a local hospital before being referred to Children's for specialized care.

After conducting multiple interviews and reviewing surveillance footage, police say they arrested a 32-year-old caretaker at the facility.

“The safety and well-being of our community’s children will always be our highest priority,” said Lieutenant Nick Hahn. “We understand how deeply troubling cases like this are, and we remain committed to thorough investigations, transparency, and accountability.”
