Five shootings Sunday through Monday in Milwaukee, one is fatal
The Milwaukee Police Department is investigating five different shootings that happened Sunday and early Monday morning, one of which was fatal.
A 27-year-old man died after being shot early Monday morning According to the police, the victim was a passenger in a car and was shot in the area of N 76th Street and W Mill Road. The driver of the car then drove to N 60th and W Burleigh Streets where Police and the Milwaukee Fire Department responded. Despite medical treatment provided by the MFD, the victim died from his wounds. The driver of the vehicle could not provide any other details surrounding the shooting. The MPD is continuing to investigate the shooting.
A known suspect is being sought for a shooting that occurred around 11:55 PM Sunday in the area of N 18th and W Locust Streets. A 19-year-old man was in an argument with a second individual when the suspect shot the victim and then ran away. The victim was treated at the scene by MFD and then taken to a local hospital. He is expected to survive his injuries.
While driving in the area of N Sherman Boulevard and W Center Street, a 27-year-old man heard several gunshots. According to the MPD, the man realized that he had been shot and parked his vehicle where he waited for help to arrive. The man was treated at the scene and then transported to a local hospital. He is expected to survive his wound.
According to the Milwaukee Police, a 27-year-old woman was shot while sitting on her porch near N 2nd E Burleigh Streets around 3:05 PM Sunday afternoon. According to the Milwaukee Police, the woman said he was sitting on her porch when a subject fired several shots at her. She received a non-fatal wound and was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
On Sunday morning, around 11 AM, a 23-year-old man was shot while walking in along S Congo Avenue in the area of S 19th and W Burnham Streets. According to the Milwaukee Police, the man said a as he was walking, a vehicle pulled up and fired several gunshots at him. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his wound.
