Fitness on the Plaza returns to Deer District with boxing, Zumba and more
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Deer District is once again offering free fitness classes on the plaza this summer.
The Fitness on the Plaza series kicked off at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday morning with Dropout Fight Club's boxing coaches waking people up.
"It's 7:30 in the morning and [I see] a bunch of faces I've never seen before," said Otto Ohlsson, owner and coach of Dropout.
Dropout Fight Club is just one of the gyms in the Milwaukee area that will be hosting free classes on the plaza this summer.
"You don't need any equipment you just turn up." said Ohlsson. "I'll teach you how to box, and we'll get a full body workout in. Make some friends, sweat a lot."
You can also try Zumba and yoga, and all of the classes are free and open to the public. No registration is required.
Deer District has put on the event for a handful of years now. This is the second year Dropout Fight Club is participating.
"Last year I had no idea what to expect and so many people showed up. I met some many new people. Introduced so many people to boxing that I've never seen before," he said.
Here is a full list of the classes from June until August 2023.
