First Steel Beams Put in Place at New Bucks Arena Site

The first steel beams that will comprise the structure of the new Wisconsin Entertainment & Sports Center were put n place Monday.

The Bucks and Mortenson Construction invited local media to mark the occasion, a milestone in construction of the new Bucks arena.

Construction began in June, but this is the first time the project is now highly visible, since so much of the work has been going on underground.

"We installed a thousand steel piles, concrete foundations in August," explained project manager Angie Helfert.  "It is really exciting there is a lot of work that went into getting here. There's still a lot of work to keep moving."

The New Arena is expected to be complete for the 2018 season.
