First round of snow moving through Thursday morning with another Friday morning

CBS 58

The first round of snow over the next 30 hours is currently falling in southeast Wisconsin. Snow started around 4 AM Thursday morning with light snow showers impacting most of the area. More snow showers will be likely the rest of Thursday morning through about midday but could linger a bit into the afternoon. Most communities will see a half to full inch of snow Thursday morning with a few getting as much as 1.5".

Here's a radar image that will update with time:

The rest of Thursday afternoon and evening looks dry but another round of snow is likely after midnight Thursday night into early Friday morning. A lot of that snow could fall when many of us are sleeping but snow could linger through the early Friday morning commute. Expect improving road conditions as the AM commute goes on.

Up to another inch of snow will be possible Friday morning pushing our total between the two rounds Thursday and Friday mornings to 1-2" for most of southeast Wisconsin.

Going into the two rounds of snow Thursday and Friday mornings, we are slightly above average on snowfall for the season. Milwaukee has officially picked up exactly 33" of snow which is almost 3" above average for the season to date and so much more than last year which barely had any snow.
