MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and Milwaukee County Parks hosted the first Park & Public Safety Day on Saturday.
The free event had food, drinks, snacks, and information.
Milwaukee County's mobile app was also on display. It allows users to make anonymous tips and get alerts about criminal activity nearby.
Deputies say it's a good tool to use.
"Safety is a really important word, because it involves everything we do on a daily basis, we take some type of precaution or something like that and so having those resources for the community so that they're educated and they're well-informed is really important to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office."
The event also gave away bike helmets and car seats.
