First batch of accumulating snow Friday morning

If you look the last five years in Milwaukee, this is the time of year Mother Nature changes things up on us weather-wise, and will send snow our way. Guess what? This year is no different!

The first round of accumulating snow is expected to hit southeastern Wisconsin by Friday morning. A shortwave disturbance will blast into the CBS58 viewing area Thursday night and Friday giving way to the wintry weather. Totals look to be in the range of a dusting to an inch, maybe an inch and a half. Given the timing of the snow early in the morning, the snow could stick on grassy surfaces and cause very slippery conditions. Expect delays during the morning commute. Most of the snow will likely melt with the warm surface by end of day.

High pressure moves in behind this system and will give way to the coldest temperatures of the season. Highs will stay in the 30s, or 10-15 degrees below average, from Friday through most of next week.
