Overall temperatures this May have been much cooler than average and we really haven't felt much big heat. So far in 2020 the warmest temperature has been 79* which we hit back on April 7th. We've had a couple days in the 70s this May but most of our high temperatures have been in the 50s and 60s. The average date for our first 80*+ temp in Milwaukee is April 26 so seeing it at the end of May is pretty late.
But there is some good news on the way! 80* is looking more likely for the Memorial Day holiday weekend with a nice surge of warmth. We now have 80* in the forecast on Sunday and Monday could also reach 80*.
Even though our first 80 degree day this year is coming much later than average it will actually happen pretty close to when we saw it in 2019 when it happened on May 22nd. The earliest we've seen our first 80* day over the past five years came in 2017 when it happened on April 15th.
Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather app to track the temperatures for the holiday weekend and see how storms could impact your plans.
