Fireworks thrown into Milwaukee man's truck

MILWAUKEE -- A Milwaukee man was injured after someone threw a firework into his truck while he was inside.

One woman told us she saw someone throw what looked like an M80 in the truck and run away laughing.

\"Next thing you know we heard like a boom and saw a flash of light we thought it was a gun shot,\" She said. \"We didn't know what it was until the man got out of the truck.\"

The witness says it was clear the man was in terrible pain, and his hand was injured.

Milwaukee Police said the man had significant injuries to his hand and that this case is being investigated as a 1st degree reckless injury.

They have no suspects right now.

The victim's friend told CBS 58 that the man lost three fingers and has been released from the hospital as of 5 p.m.
