MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A house fire damaged a home near 21st and Concordia on Monday, Oct. 6, leaving it uninhabitable and sending one firefighter to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
MFD says they responded to the report of a fire at around 9:24 a.m.
Crews arrived to find flames spreading through every floor of the two-and-a-half-story house. Officials said early reports suggested an adult and several children might have been inside, but searches confirmed no one was home.
The adult resident later arrived at the scene and verified that all residents were safe.
Firefighters called in extra units to control the fire, which caused extensive damage throughout the structure.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Milwaukee Fire Department’s Fire Investigation Unit.
