The first reports of the fire came into the CBS 58 newsroom around 1 a.m. on April 12. Neighbors in the area, like Jan Anthonsen, said they could hear fire crews responding to the blaze.
“I could hear all these sirens going past our house,” Jan Anthonsen said.
Many people shared photos and videos of the fire online. People who have visited the business said they were saddened to see what happened to it.
“It’s just a really nice neighborhood bar. I feel so bad for them with the summer season coming up and everything,” Antonsen said. “To see the destruction is really sad for them.”
CBS 58 crews were at the scene of the fire on Monday, April 13. Fire investigators identified themselves at the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
