Fire at church in Racine remains under investigation

RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A fire caused roughly $6,000 in damages to a church on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Racine Fire Department, a concerned citizen called 911 to report that she saw flames coming from the roof of the church located at 2219 Washington Ave.

It happened shortly after 12 p.m.

Upon arrival, fire crews took action to contain the fire to a small area of the roof section which included the solar panel system.

No one was injured as a result of the fire.

The fire remains under investigation.
