Hundreds of people came for this week's warrant forgiveness program happening between 8:30 am and 5 pm. Identical programs will also happen the next two Wednesdays.

Many waiting a long time in the pouring rain.

"It's good for me because I need my license back. I need to drive to work everyday," Pamela French-Carter said.

"They're dropping and lifting warrants. And what they're doing is giving you time to pay it. So you're going to get 60 day, 90 day, or however you can pay," French Carter said.

The limited-time program - promoted by judges Derek Mosley, Valarie Hill, and Philip Chavez - is trying to get people to com forward who might otherwise be afraid* of engaging in the court system because of warrants.

People in Wednesday line said it's working.

Danielle Jones said it's the most success she's ever had in a courtroom.

"Me having those warrants is like, I'm trying to get a good job and they're looking at it like 'Wow, you have a little retail theft or driving something like that.' You know, getting those clear makes jobs look at you way better," Jones said.

"I'm so happy that I got the warrants lifted and I'll pay this $20 in 90 days and keep going from there," Jones said.

The judges had seen about 300 people before their lunch break, volunteers said.
