Fight between dogs leads to shooting; 1 man injured, 2 dogs dead

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two dogs are dead, and a Milwaukee man is injured following a shooting Monday evening, June 19. 

Police say it happened around 4:19 p.m. near 21st and Stark. 

The victim, a 32-year-old Milwaukee man, was trying to retrieve his dog that got loose and was fighting with the suspect's dog, when the suspect fired several shots at both the victim and his dog. 

Officials say the victim's dog was killed, and the 32-year-old man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-fatal injuries. 

Police say the suspect's dog died of injuries caused by the victim's dog. 

The suspect, a 43-year-old Milwaukee man, was arrested. 

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.
