Felony Murder Charge Filed for Becher Street Homicide

Felony murder charge filed against a Milwaukee man that allegedly fatally shot Carmelo Silva, Jr. while attempting to rob him.

According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred on October 1 in the 2400 block of West Becher Street.

A witness told police that Treneel Bankston met Carmelo Silva, Jr. to purchase marijuana.

The witness said Bankston pointed a gun at the victim and told him to give him everything he had.

According to the criminal complaint, the gun went off several times and the victim was able to exit the residence.

The victim’s father heard the gunshots and saw the fight spill out into the dining room.

He then grabbed a sword and after a struggle stabbed Bankston in the stomach.

Carmelo, Jr. succumb to his gunshot wound.
