Father and daughter killed in Milwaukee plane crash

CBS 58 has confirmed the identities of the two people killed in a plane crash Wednesday night at Timmerman Airport on Milwaukee's northwest side.

Summit Partners, a growth equity firm based in Boston, tells us their Chief Operating Officer Joseph Trustey and his daughter Anna were killed. They were traveling to the Midwest for a college visit at Marquette University.

Trustey was 53 years old. His daughter was just 18.

The two were the only people in the small private plane. It crashed shortly after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.

“Joe was uniquely distinguished in so many ways: as a partner, a leader and a friend. He was a wonderful husband and father who also cared deeply for those with whom he worked both inside and outside the firm. He touched everybody he met with his intellect, his sterling character and his engaging sense of humor. We cannot express how much we will miss his presence in our lives,\" Marty Mannion of Summit said.

Investigators with the National Transportation Safety Board will be out at the scene Thursday morning trying to pinpoint the exact cause of the crash.

Marquette University released a statement the two were planning on attending a visit to the school.

Our hearts go out to the Trustey family during this time of overwhelming tragedy. Anna Trustey and her father, Joseph, had plans to visit Marquette University today. We are so sorry for the family’s loss and our thoughts and prayers are with them. Given that the family has requested privacy during this extremely difficult time, we will respect this and do not have further information to share. - Marquette University
