Fantastic Finishes with Maribeth Schmit

Learn to finish the edges of your quilt and achieve a professional appearance. We’ll make take-home practice samples of various bindings and edge finishes such as: mitered corners (90 degree and obtuse angles), facings, French fold, ric rac, bias binding, reversible bindings, single and continuous prairie points, piped and faux piped edges, binding joins and more. Learn what quilt judges look for in evaluating edge finishes and improving your techniques. Class appropriate for advanced beginners and up.

Maribeth is an award-winning quilt maker, quilting teacher, author and NQA Certified and Master Quilt Judge. She offers a variety of quilt related workshops and lectures and regularly judges quilt competitions across the country. She exhibits her art quilts in museums and fine art galleries as well.

Maribeth enjoys travelling, teaching and judging quilt shows. These opportunities have taken her to such places as Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Florida, North Dakota, Kansas and New Mexico.

Registration deadline for this class is January 24. Cancellations received after this date will not be refunded. If the WMQFA finds it must cancel this class (due to weather, for example), registrants will be offered a full refund and/or an a rescheduled class date.
