The family of the man who died of dehydration inside the Milwaukee County Jail is suing more than two dozen people more than a year after his death.
The lawsuit cites egregious mistreatment of 38-year-old Terrill Thomas and that Thomas lost 34 pounds in 8 days.
Earlier this year, a jury found probable cause to charge seven jail employees during an inquest.
Jail officials admitted water had been turned off in Thomas' cell.
The lawsuit names 23 people including Sheriff David Clarke from Milwaukee County and 4 more people from Armor Correctional Health Services which run the hospital in the jail.
Thomas, an infant, and 2 others died in the jail last year.Â
