OSHKOSH, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Officials with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office say the victims from Sunday's EAA crashes have been recovered from Lake Winnebago.

Sheriff's officials say the majority of the T-6 Texan World War II aircraft have been recovered, as such, recovery operations are not happening Monday as we learn more about the people who died.

"He said, 'I hate to tell you this, grammy, but Babi has passed away.' That's what they called him. I just screamed and said, 'no, he's not. No he's not,'" said Patty Volz, Thomas Volz' wife as she recalls what she said when she heard that her husband, 72-year-old Thomas died.

69-year-old Mark Foley also died in the crash. Officials say he was the pilot and Thomas was the passenger.

Patty says she was told they might never know how it happened.

"It was a horrific accident. They were hit by a gyrocopter from underneath as they were coming into land."

EAA President Jack Pelton said, "I want to take the time to express our condolences to all the affected parties in the accidents that we had, one on the field and one over the lake."

The other incident where a T-6 Texan World War II plane crashed into Lake Winnebago left 30-year-old Devyn Reilly of Guadalupe, Texas and 20-year-old Zach Colliemoreno dead.

Reiley worked at the Texas Warbird Museum. According to the museum, she grew up dreaming of being a pilot one day, just like her dad.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating both incidents.

"Those are never easy to deal with. Our communications team will continue to keep everyone posted with any additional facts as they unfold," said Pelton.

For family members like Patty, they now have to make arrangements. She says Thomas' ashes will be flying back to Ohio.

"So, he will make his last flight in about five days.".

Devyn Reilly was the daughter of two-time Superbowl Champion Bruce Collie.
