MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Tonight, on July 15, a family mourning the loss of a loved one hit and killed by a car in Menomonee Falls.

The funeral for 24-year-old Benjamin Reimers was held at Falls Baptist Church today.

Benjamin and his sister were walking through a Pick n Save parking lot after the fireworks show around 10:00 p.m. on July 3 when they were both hit.

Emily was in critical condition, but is slowly recovering.

She spoke at the funeral about her brother and his strong relationship with the Church.

"He began attending the ministry class there with my pastor. and that definitely has an impact on him. as well as his other key decision which Josiah mentioned about surrendering to preach and definitely saw God's hand on his life," said Emily Reimers.

Police have ruled it an accident.

They say the driver and two juvenile passengers in the car stayed on scene.

Nobody else was hurt. Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor.
