Family Escapes House Fire

A house fire sends one family into the early morning cold.  The fire on S 16th Street just north of Lincoln Ave started in a 2nd floor bedroom and the entire family was able to make it out okay before the Axmen arrived so says the Battalion Fire Chief on duty.  The exact cause of what started the fire is undetermined at this time and the investigator is continuing his work.  The on call Chief did note the home was without a working smoke detector, he added the family was very lucky things could have been much worse.  The Red Cross is lending a hand.
