MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Riverwest's historic Falcon Bowl, one of the nation's oldest bowling alleys, is set to undergo a significant renovation in the coming weeks.
While the facility will remain open during its revamp, patrons can expect a refreshed interior design inspired by the historic bowling alley's 1950s aesthetic.
The renovations, which began in April, are anticipated to conclude by mid-June, ahead of a celebration event on June 24.
Upgrades include a stylish update to the bar area, a revamped banquet hall with modern amenities and the addition of a 1,100-square-foot outdoor patio and beer garden.
The refreshed bar area will feature a pink, white and green color scheme, drawing inspiration from the basement bowling alley. A pink and green checkerboard tile floor, orange Naugahyde stick-legged chairs and sleek soffit above the oval bar will be added. Period lighting fixtures and vintage bowling-themed décor will also contribute to an intended mid-century ambiance.
Falcon Bowl, which has a rich history dating back to 1882, is currently owned and operated by Dan Gnadt, Bill Desing and Russ Grabczyk, who were selected by the Riverwest Investment Co-op to manage the establishment.
