'Fair is foul and foul is fair': Shakespeare's 'Macbeth' takes center stage at UW-Whitewater 🎭
WHITEWATER, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater's College of Arts and Communication is set to stage William Shakespeare's renowned tragedy, "Macbeth," as the final show of the 2022-23 Theatre/Dance season.
The play will be performed in Barnett Theatre from April 25 - 29 at 7:30 p.m., with a matinee performance on April 30th at 1 p.m.
"Macbeth" is about the main character, Macbeth, and his wife, Lady Macbeth. They go on a dangerous journey to gain power, driven by their strong desire and predictions about the future.
The UW-Whitewater cast includes Antonio Parra as Macbeth, Erin McKee as Lady Macbeth, Bryce Giammo as Banquo and Makayla Fedler, Dyamond Jackson and Abby Frey as the three witches.
Director Bruce Cohen noted in a press release that he chose the play for its timeless exploration of political ambition and the corruption of power, themes he believes are still relevant today.
