Extreme cold suspends garbage and recycling operations in Milwaukee

CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Department of Public Works (DPW) will be suspending most operations Friday, Jan. 23, and Saturday, Jan. 24, as dangerous cold weather moves through southeast Wisconsin.
All garbage and recycling collection will be suspended Friday, along with all sanitation services. Drop off centers will also be closed to the public.
No sanitation collection will be scheduled on Saturday due to the extreme cold. Drop off centers will also be closed Saturday.
Operations will resume next week.
Residents are asked to keep their carts at their normal collection spot until they are collected.
