The severe thunderstorm watch has been cancelled. Isolated thunder remains possible.
All watches and warning have been cancelled for tonight! No more severe weather is anticipated. Some lingering showers and rumbles of thunder remain possible.
The severe thunderstorm warnings have expired for now, but we do have flood warnings that have been issued for portions of Walworth, Racine, and Kenosha counties through 11 pm. Rainfall estimates from 1" to 2" have been seen within the warning. Localized flooding will be possible with training storms.
Storms have quickly fired across our area with plenty of heavy rainfall and small hail. The storms are oriented from southwest to northeast from Walworth County to southern Milwaukee County. Locally heavy rainfall is also possible.
A new severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for our southern counties until Midnight. Storms are expected to pop across the area over the next several hours. Storms that do develop could produce large hail. The storm threat should decrease after midnight.
South of the warm front the SPC has upgraded parts of northern and central Illinois to a level 4 out of 5. This could be a dangerous situation for that area with the possibility for a few strong tornadoes.
Closer to home we are north of the warm front with a northeast wind. We don't have the ingredients at the surface for severe weather, but that doesn't mean we won't have warnings.
This evening we will have elevated rain and some storms. Elevated storms have a better chance to produce hail. We can't rule out some larger hail this evening with any strong storms that move north from northern Illinois. Widespread severe weather is not expected.
Rain and storms should move out after midnight.
