MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Moving in Milwaukee's summertime heat is not only a dreaded chore, but also potentially a dangerous one.
Tim Lightner, owner of Two Men and a Truck in Milwaukee, joined us on Wednesday, July 12 to offer some insights on moving in Milwaukee amid high temperatures.
He recommends leaving a cool space inside the moving vehicle for items such as candles, CDs and pressurized cans to prevent damage due to heat, as well as staying hydrated by having cold water and sports drinks readily available for those involved in the move.
Another piece of advice was to schedule moves in the early morning or evening to dodge excessive heat and to ensure the air conditioning at the new location is turned on ahead of arrival.
What should movers wear? The experts suggest going with lightweight and loose-fitting clothes, with a reminder to apply sunscreen to protect against sun exposure.
