Ex-Green Bay guard Anderson 1 of 2 walk-ons at Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Former Green Bay guard Trevor Anderson is transferring to Wisconsin, one of two walk-ons who will round out the Badgers' roster this season.

Anderson played one season with the Phoenix, starting the first 20 games in 2016-17 before being sidelined by a back injury.

Anderson averaged 9.8 points and shot nearly 38 percent from 3-point range. He will redshirt in 2017-18.

In high school at Stevens Point, Anderson was the AP's Player of the Year in Wisconsin in 2016. He led his school to back-to-back state titles.

Anderson said on Twitter last month that he had decided to transfer to Wisconsin. Badgers coach Greg Gard made it official on Wednesday.

Gard also announced the addition of walk-on freshman Walt McGrory. The guard from Edina, Minnesota averaged 26 points in his senior season.
