MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Governor Tony Evers was in Milwaukee Wednesday to highlight his efforts to expand BadgerCare across Wisconsin.
The governor got a tour of the community care unit at the Holy Cathedral Church of God at 11 a.m. and attended a roundtable to discuss his 2023-2025 budget.
He says his push to expand BadgerCare would give people better access to health care as well as investments in mental health programs.
"Whatever we can do as a state to make sure that everybody has an opportunity to have good health care, it is just a basic," said Gov. Evers.
Evers also said he's working to convince the Republican-majority state Legislature to pass his agenda, saying Wisconsin should not be the last state in the country to pass the expansion.
