Gov. Evers orders flags at half-staff to honor late Rep. Michael Endsley

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Gov. Tony Evers has ordered U.S. and state flags to be flown at half-staff in memory of former State Rep. Michael Endsley on Saturday, July 22.

The executive order, #207, honors Endsley, who passed away July 13, at age 61.

Evers commended Endsley's dedication as a public servant and his devotion as a businessman, history enthusiast, Green Bay Packer supporter, father and friend, stating, "On behalf of the state of Wisconsin, I share our deepest condolences with Andrew, Katie, Beverly, Michelle, and the entire Endsley family on Michael’s passing."

Endsley served two terms in the Wisconsin State Assembly from the 26th Assembly District, having chaired the Aging and Long-Term Care Committee.

He also championed Alzheimer's disease awareness following his early-onset diagnosis in 2014.

Lowered flags will also mark memorial services, which will take place Saturday in Sheboygan Falls.
