BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) – As reports of Aaron Rodgers' unhappiness with the Green Bay Packers circulates, sales for some businesses remain in limbo.

At Jeff’s Sports in Brookfield, they’re waiting, just like other fans to hear what’s going on with Rodgers.

“[It all] escalated very fast,” Owner Jeff Lemieux said. “I’m a huge sports fan, plus it affects my business and my livelihood, so I never want to see a player like Aaron Rodgers not happy with one of my favorite teams that I follow and maybe potentially leave on a bad note, that’s never good.”

Lemieux says the news and possible outcomes could impact his business in two ways.

“Are they [fans] going to be looking to buy Aaron Rodgers packer stuff thinking it’s going to be harder to get if he leaves or will people be on the other side, upset like I don’t want anything Aaron Rodgers based on the way this played out,” he said.

No matter what, Lemieux believes fans will eventually cool off and Rodgers will always be a Green Bay legend.

“If he leaves tomorrow, he still is going to be a Hall of Famer. The bulk of his work is going to be with the Green Bay Packers, he’s one MVPs, he’s brought a lot of excitement to the Packers, he’s won a Super Bowl for the Packers,” Lemieux said. “He’s accomplished a lot of great things with the Packers, there’s going to people the people who always collect his merchandise.”

Lemieux added that in his experience, no one is bigger than the team and he believes fans will continue to buy Packers gear.
