CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The arrival of a new year encourages us to make some changes that we feel could improve our lives.
New Year? New behavior.
After finishing off 2025 strong, some people say they’ve got their goals ready for 2026, while others say they just plan on taking it easy.
“I like to keep it rolling from one year to the next. I think it’s easier that way,” said Eduardo Alarcon.
It doesn’t matter what your age may be.
“Now that you’re talking about my 2026 goals, I’m thinking that my 2026 goals will be to do in school, do good at chores at home, work on not blowing through my debit card,” said Willy Clavin.
Clavin’s full of advice and wise beyond his years.
“Actually, I’m 10,” said Clavin.
No matter how hard your goal is – don’t give up.
“If you’re thinking about quitting smoking or quitting something that you’re addicted to, don’t think that if you do it once, your goal is completely gone,” said Clavin.
For others, entering 2026 is about admiring the hard work put into 2025.
“Raising this little guy,” said Shon Gordon about his son.
For Isabella Lambert, it was a studious year to get that degree.
“I got my master's degree this year in legal studies from Arizona State University,” said Lambert.
Some people are bringing in the same energy into 2026.
“A lot of tamales, a lot of tacos, and a lot of margaritas,” said Alarcon.
So write down your goal and just take it day by day and remember, it's okay to start over, well into the new year. At least, that’s what Clavin says.
“Not that many people are perfect so if you make a couple slip ups it's OK,” said Clavin.
