Elm Grove Police looking for suspect who smashed car window, stole wallet off front seat

ELM GROVE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Officers responded to a window smash to a vehicle around 1 p.m. on Monday.

It happened on the north side of the Village Court Ltd. Building, located at 890 Elm Grove Road.

Police say the victim had left her wallet on the front seat for ten minutes, and when she returned her window was smashed and her wallet was missing.

The suspect used the victim's credit card from the stolen wallet within minutes of the theft.

Elm Grove Police issued the following statement, "We always encourage you to remove all valuables from your vehicle. Individuals committing these types of offenses target women exiting their cars "empty handed" knowing there will likely be a purse or wallet inside the vehicle."
