Elderly woman killed in Dodge County crash

DODGE COUNTY-- A 77-year-old woman from Jefferson was killed in a crash in Dodge County Sunday morning.

Officials responded to the crash near County M and County J in the Township of Clyman around 9:00 a.m.

A preliminary investigation shows that a Chevrolet Impala was traveling north on County M when the 77-year-old male driver from Jefferson lost control on a snow covered and slippery road.

The car slid off the road and struck a railroad signal gate.

  The driver was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The female passenger was taken by flight for life to Aurora Medical Center in Summit where she was pronounced dead.

The accident remains under investigation by the Dodge county Sheriff;s Office.

The names of the victims are not being released at this time.
