Early morning house fire in Village of Wales ends in total loss

Wales Genesee Fire Department fought a fire that was fully engulfed at a house on Caernarvon Rd in the Village of Wales early Sunday morning.

At 3:07AM, the Sheriff’s Department and Wales Genesee Fire Department were dispatched to the house fire. 

The fire was reported by the homeowner who advised the attached garage was on fire.  The first arriving squad confirmed an active fire and the entire house fully engulfed.  The homeowner and two other occupants did safely evacuate the house.  Several surrounding Fire Departments responded to assist.

After the fire was extinguished, Fire Department command requested fire investigators from the Sheriff’s Department.  The investigation is ongoing and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.  The house was a total loss.
