Early morning fire in south side Milwaukee apartment building

Four people are being assisted by the Red Cross following a fire in an apartment building on Milwaukee’s south side this morning   Around 4 AM today, the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to the report of a fire  in an apartment building on W Mitchell near S 13th Street.   The fire was in one of the units in the building.  One person was assessed for smoke inhalation at the scene but refused further treatment.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation and there is no estimate of the dollar amount of damage.
