Early morning fire displaces six people from home

MILWAUKEE, WI (CBS 58) -- Six people are being assisted by the Red Cross following a fire in their home on Milwaukee’s north side early Saturday morning.   The Milwaukee  Fire department was called to the 1 and ½ story home at N 70th Street and W Capitol Drive around 12:45 AM.   Firefighters observed smoke coming from the home when they arrived.  The fire was located in the basement and quickly extinguished.   No one was injured as a result of the fire.   At this time there is no estimate on the dollar amount of damage and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
