Early holiday gift for 20 local charities as they each get $25K from Potawatomi's 'Heart of Canal Street' campaign

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A stocking filled with $25,000. This is a nice early gift for 20 local children's charities. The official announcement will be this Thursday. This campaign, called "Heart of Canal Street," started by Potawatomi Casino & Hotel back in 1994. The aim is to improve the overall health and wellness of kids through financial assistance. Since its beginnings, the initiative has contributed to more than $20 million to hundreds of local charities through Potawatomi's special Bingo game. Next year will be the 30^th anniversary of this campaign, and you can be sure there will be special events and promotions to go with this milestone.
