MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A stocking filled with $25,000. This is a nice early gift for 20 local children's charities. The official announcement will be this Thursday. This campaign, called "Heart of Canal Street," started by Potawatomi Casino & Hotel back in 1994. The aim is to improve the overall health and wellness of kids through financial assistance. Since its beginnings, the initiative has contributed to more than $20 million to hundreds of local charities through Potawatomi's special Bingo game. Next year will be the 30th anniversary of this campaign, and you can be sure there will be special events and promotions to go with this milestone.
