FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The man has been identified as 57-year-old James Pugh of Fond du Lac. The ME report indicates that the preliminary cause of death is hypothermia but toxicology results are pending.
Foul play is not expected.

FOND DU LAC, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Early Wednesday morning around 2:53, Fond du Lac Police Officers and Rescue were called to the Fond du Lac River at the dead end of John Street for a report of a drunk man in the river.
When officers arrived the 57-year-old Fond du Lac man still had his head above water. Rescue personnel were able to pull him from the river.
The man was taken to St. Agnes Hospital where he later died.
