Driver extricated from truck after crash with electric pole in Waukesha

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Authorities responded to a crash on Moreland Boulevard, near Avalon Drive, on Wednesday, June 8. 

Police said around 12:51 p.m., multiple 911 calls came in reporting the crash. 

According to Waukesha police, an operator of a pickup truck lost control of their vehicle, rolled over and collided with an electric pole. The vehicle came to rest on its roof. 

Police believe the driver suffered a medical event. The driver was provided medical care, extricated from the truck, and taken to a local hospital for further medical treatment of minor injuries. 

Police say one officer suffered a minor injury why evaluating the driver of the truck. 

Both the Waukesha Police and Fire Department would like to remind community members that if you see downed wires to always treat them as live electrical wires and notify the proper authorities to mitigate the potentially dangerous situation.

The Wisconsin State Patrol assisted at the scene.
