Driver arrested, accused of fleeing West Allis police, crashing in Bay View
CBS 58 WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 19-year-old man is facing charges after police say he fled an attempted traffic stop in West Allis Thursday night, causing a pursuit that ended with a crash in Milwaukee's Bay View neighborhood.
According to the West Allis Police Department, officers attempted to stop the vehicle near 70th and Washington around 11:45 p.m., but the driver refused to pull over.
Stop sticks were used at 70th and W. Greenfield Avenue, however, police say the suspect continued to flee until losing control and crashing near Holt and Lenox Street.
Both the driver and a female passenger were taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
Police say the driver was arrested for fleeing an officer, first degree recklessly endangering safety, OWI causing great bodily harm, and operating without a license.
