GRAFTON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A driver was able to safely escape a semi fire in Grafton on Friday afternoon.
It happened around 12:42 p.m. on I-43 northbound at Lakefield Road.
Responding units could see the large black plume of smoke for miles before arriving on scene.
The driver was able to get out safely before the fire engulfed the cab.
Numerous agencies assisted the Village of Grafton Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
