3-year-old passes away after crash with semi near 22nd and Villard

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Authorities report a 3-year-old child involved in a crash near 22nd and Villard has passed away from their injuries. 

The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified the 3-year-old child as Ralph Stewart.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a crash that left a child seriously injured Friday morning, Dec. 29. 

Authorities responded to the area near 22nd and Villard around 3:25 a.m. after a van collided head-on with a semi. 

Police say the 32-year-old driver of the van and their 3-year-old passenger were taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. They are both said to be in critical condition.

The driver of the semi was uninjured and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
